It started with a bowl of ice water… and a question.
Frosteam™ is a Canadian beauty-tech and wellness company based in Mirabel, Québec. Its flagship device, Frosteam Harmony™, is the world's first 3-in-1 contrast therapy facial spa: an at-home facial skincare and wellness device combining Nano-Ionic Steam at approximately 70 °C, a facial cold plunge held within approximately 1 °C to 4 °C and a Built-in Aromatherapy Diffuser in one ritual.
The origin
A kitchen sink, a steel bowl, and a lot of ice.
I'm Ritchie, founder of Frosteam. And yes, the origin story is as raw as it gets: me, half awake, leaning over my kitchen sink, face plunged in a stainless steel bowl filled with ice water. Desperate for that post cold plunge glow everyone was talking about.
I was chasing the benefits. Less puffiness, tighter looking pores, that instant wake up call. And sure, my skin looked a little better.
But the process? A total mess. Water everywhere. Ice cubes melting too fast. Zero control. No ritual. No joy. Just a chaotic, uncomfortable routine that I knew couldn't last.
That's when the question hit me
What if this moment could feel less like a punishment, and more like a ritual?
That question became an obsession. And that obsession became Harmony, Frosteam's 3-in-1 facial device.

Creating Harmony
I spent the next year prototyping. Something clean, safe, consistent. Something that fits into a modern routine, like brushing your teeth or making your morning coffee.
I brought together designers, engineers and skincare experts to build it with intention. We prototyped, tested and refined every detail, so Harmony delivers not just results, but a ritual you actually look forward to.
That work is protected. Harmony's design and technology are covered by a registered and patent-pending intellectual property portfolio, verifiable in official registries.

Top view, front view, sections. Proportions, materials and controls settled on the board before anything was built.

Heat below, cold above, across a single basin wall. The constraint the whole device is built around.

Basin, heating element, insulation, controls. Every component in its place, nothing added that did not earn its space.
